Summer is in full swing in the Central Adirondacks

We have had more than enough rain, but it's warm and we are all about water. If it floats, we have a place for it.

As always, the Fourth of July celebration in Old Forge is held...of course...on the Fourth of July. The festivities begin with a free concert featuring the Floyd Community Band. Immediately afterward, the fireworks display begins over Old Forge Pond. The "Hometown-style" celebration starts the long holiday weekend, which also features the First Friday Art Walk, and an Antiques Auction at Goodsell Museum.

Old Forge is your Base Camp, and if you want to get away from it all without going far, try the outlying communities of Eagle Bay, Big Moose and Stillwater. We're Adirondack, and we're here for your enjoyment.

That's the Independence which was won.
